last night
i saw Jesus
he was washed out
and plastic
illuminated
by a floodlight
his equally faded
yet illuminated wisemen
and their plastic lamb
were on parade
in a small plastic lean-to
in a bed of pinestraw
on the edge of a driveway
and all I could think to myself
was that the owner would
inevitably mow Jesus down with his
Dodge magnum
and then I could nickname him Pontius Pilot
