a sand colored coat
turns with the wind
just on the edges
a slight upward draft
exposing the lining
rough stitches
and a polyester plaid
that is slightly off center
khaki with a slice
of red and black and white
rough hewn stitches
where no surgeon or seamstress
would find pride
the seedy underbelly
of all that is beautiful
the sets of twins
that lived down my street
the tall, flaxen haired one
with alabaster skin
and the mousy haired one
with wide set eyes.
So close
So similar
but i could always tell the difference
something as simple
as a breeze
could point it out.
