I am your average 26 year old retard who desperately believes that deep down, there is good in all people. I am trying to find my place in this world... and I have no idea if I am even close. My goal is to be happy - and I am getting there - slowly, but surely.... I think.

inner struggle
is such a worthy war
day in and day out
the battlefield is always
with you
beside your stomach
nestled next to your spleen
encasing your lungs
harnessing that soul
the war rages
and you win some battles
keeping your eye on that prize
and the longer you fight
the more tired you become
and you start to feel
like that old soldier
from the war stories
they made you read in school
and you want nothing more than peace
and a bus ticket home
but that is when it dawns on you
...you are home
so you keep fighting
a new war now
one to help you
recognize the place again
new battles
new enemies
new comrades
and somehow it just doesnt seem worth it
it is easier to deconstruct
than construct
... and regardless of the war...
that has always been the case.
