Life and love
are complicated
at best
and unmanageable
at worst.
life is easy
when it happens
in those little obscure moments
that we forget
to take pictures of
the days when friends
wander to the beach
or the lake
or the park
and spend the nights
marching
then dragging
from bar to bar
to "open late" restaurant
or diner
with greasy food
and cheap prices
or that great little Japanese place
that is open till 3
and everything is hibatchi
and you can barely
pronounce "hibatchi" at 2:30
in the morning.
love is never easy
not even in those moments
that we forget to take pictures of
without the flash
and poses and cheap smiles
love is still difficult
the longing
the questions
all of the certainty
and uncertainty
the trust
and lack thereof
but to be quite honest
and I will be
life and love
are fun
down to the core
even without the pictures
and the certainty
and the longing
and the questions
without the schedules and plans
life and love
they just happen
